You're a 19 year old kid. You're critically wounded and dying in the jungle in the La Drang Valley,  11-14-1965, LZ X-ray, Vietnam .
Your infantry unit is outnumbered 8 - 1 and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 or 200 yards away, that your own Infantry Commander has ordered the MediVac helicopters to stop coming in.

ABMM announces Veteran Remembrance program
Written by ABMM

ABMM will soon be releasing a new section of the ABMM website dedicated to veterans of all wars in which Australian forces have served. We have received the details and stories of several WWII diggers and we will display these not only for the families, but also for the community at large as a public education initiative.

Everyone who served during wartime or peacekeeping operations has a story to tell and unfortunately increasing numbers of our ex-service men and women are no longer able to tell those stories. We will tell the world. Their service is our heritage.

If a loved one served and you would like their service to be honoured through a permanent page on the ABMM website, please send us an email using the "contact us" button at left. This is a free service and will not cost you a cent.

We can digitise and return any photos to you as well as undertake some basic research all free of charge.
